At the Crossroads

In May 2011, I sent in a short story to Grey Oak Publishers. Titled The Pink Slip, the story now features in Urban Shots: Crossroads, a collection of short stories with an urban setting. Edited by bestselling author, Ahmed Faiyaz, Crossroads has 30 short stories by 26 authors including yours truly.

Boy, am I excited. Have had a short story published in a magazine earlier; this is my first story published in a paperback! And since this is my space, I do get to gloat and plug myself laughing

The Pink Slip is, as its name suggests, about the corporate world. Readers may wonder if the story is inspired by real life, and I would like to proudly deny this and claim the story as a product of only my imagination, but alas. A few tidbits in the tale have been borrowed from my professional experiences.

Back to xanga after a long hiatus. Several things kept me busy; my laptop breaking down, a few weddings at the end of the year, and a forced-to-cut-it-short cycling expedition to kickstart 2012.

Getting back to writing after ages makes it that much harder to overcome the starting friction. Looking for creative inspiration: anyone with ideas?
