In May 2011, I sent in a short story to Grey Oak Publishers. Titled The Pink Slip, the story now features in Urban Shots: Crossroads, a collection of short stories with an urban setting. Edited by bestselling author, Ahmed Faiyaz, Crossroads has 30 short stories by 26 authors including yours truly.
Boy, am I excited. Have had a short story published in a magazine earlier; this is my first story published in a paperback! And since this is my space, I do get to gloat and plug myself
The Pink Slip is, as its name suggests, about the corporate world. Readers may wonder if the story is inspired by real life, and I would like to proudly deny this and claim the story as a product of only my imagination, but alas. A few tidbits in the tale have been borrowed from my professional experiences.
