I keep a torch handy since I can’t remember when.
Bangalore’s erratic power makes it a good-to-have device.
It does not have to pour, just a drizzle will suffice
to plunge the entire neighbourhood into darkness.
There have been times when the power cut has been so long
my torch batteries drained out,
and I realized how useless the device was when it could not give light.
I’ve been stocking candles now,
Lots of them.
None has been lit so far.
But hang on, it will be May soon.
A shower must be around the corner. I hope it is.
I can work with candle light or even a few ounces of darkness.
This heat though needs a good drenching from the rain.
