If paper boats weren’t made of paper,
but of skin instead,
would they float?
Would they sink?
Not sink maybe drown,
because umm… not paper but skin?
And if these boats were made of skin,
perhaps their pores would let the water in,
like small fry through fishing nets.
They’d hold oceans out,
let pools stay in.
Maybe they’d let the waves wash off scars
or sometimes let tides ink tattoos,
reveal histories of generations.
Clever!
