There was a hole in the sky last night
For when you spoke,
A piece of the heavens jumped down to the earth
And waited in the folds of the air,
Eager to catch your breath.
The clock slowed down,
So it could catch you in a frozen moment.
The moon stood still too,
Its eyes fixed on you
As it wondered
About the star on earth.
And you, the reason for the chaos,
Ate out of my hands,
Your eyes playing cat and mouse with mine.
How is it that thirty seven people viewed this poem without comment? Ridiculous (at best) This last stanza is pure poetry. Very lovely words, indeed.
As the commenter above me noted… how can so many view, but not speak? Very compelling imagery.
